Innovation Filter
Visitors to our website now have a clear sign post for progressing their products/ideas. The process provides a service, which will identify products and services, whilst addressing areas if unmet clinical need
How the Innovation Filter will work:-
- For innovative products and services - Visitors are able to complete an on line questionnaire which will categorise the product or service into a Clinical or non Clinical Category
- New product request form – this should be completed by Suppliers or NHS Staff requesting the NW CCA to consider the addition of a new product to an existing contract
Once the ‘filter’ has identified the Category into which the technology falls, the NW CCA will identify the following key criteria
- Will the product significantly improve Clinical outcome and or service provision?
- Is the product clinically or commercially driven?
- Is there a clinical need for this product?
- Have the findings been accredited by a recognised educational/professional organisation?
- Will the introduction of this product have a significant effect on NHS Budgets-both a cost savings and cost pressures?
A carefully selected ‘panel of experts’ will meet 2/3 times a year, to review the applications. Successful technology will then enter stage one of the CCA ‘Evidence based Purchasing for Healthcare Process’
Products or services, which do not meet our criteria will be directed to one of our NHS partner organisations, who will then advise on the next steps
